rykel, please do not assume that another distribution is the same as Ubuntu even if it may be based on it: they may well have done additional changes, applied additional patches, etc.
Looking at this quickly, it's the first time I see the actual model of dongle being mentioned in the bug report. Could someone please follow the below steps to add modemmanager debug information to this bug report (as per comment 11 in the upstream bug report): 1) unplug the modem 2) stop NetworkManager (you can do this with "sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop". Don't forget to start it again once done, or reboot) 3) killall -TERM modem-manager 4) modem-manager --debug 5) plug the modem in Then please attach the output of modem-manager to this bug report, along with the output of "dpkg -l network-manager modemmanager".
