Yes, I had the latest updates. It may have been a freak thing. I did the standard upgrade from 6.10 to Feisty using the command line and then that brought up the update thing with the upgrade button that I clicked on. It was using the us repositories. I fixed it by uninstalling orca and gnopericus. Then I ran the apt-get build-dep gnome-orca. Then I installed orca again. It should be noted that the version of Orca I was using before the upgrade was a newer build. The main reason I am worried about this is that other people may not be as able as me at trouble shooting and running the latest version of Orca is important as it fixes bugs in earlier versions. The computer is now happily running 2.18 and I will be installing 2.19 on it soon.
