I got the same error on Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid). In the beginning everything was OK. The error 'Could not display "computer:". Nautilus cannot handle "computer" locations.' started to appear after I had changed system language (or maybe just opened Administration -> Language support and downloaded missing language packages for my language - Polish). Then I have set the language to English, but it didn't help. Reinstalling nautilus (sudo aptitude reinstall nautilus) didn't solve the problem.
