Sorry, this seems to be a printer hardware problem. The printer doesn't work on a different PC running Windows XP either. The cause wasn't easy to detect, since the built in scanner is still working (over the same USB cable), and the internal copier funciton (without PC support) also works. Changed the status to INVALID.
