Public bug reported: Hi, Just done a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) onto my PC. Having an odd problem with sound - it seems to work erratically, either crackling or going off then back on for a few seconds. Tested and happens with the test tone, streaming stuff online or playing back MP3 files from a local USB drive. Checked system monitor and CPU and RAM are ok. Looked online for similar problems, only setting I've changed is adding my own username to the audio group (replacing a pulse entry) but this hasn't made any difference. Thanks in advance for your help. Andy.
