Hello Gerardo The problem is not reproducible by me, everythings works.
1- Closing terminal, restore the up/down arrows keys functionality ? 2- When you are in a empty terminal hitting up/down key, can you see the commands you has typed in others day? 3- If you have visual effect enabled (system-preference-aspect-visual effect) try setting on nothing and reproduce the bug ( to see if window manager is involved) 4- Try to reinstall the terminal, system-admin-synaptic package manager- click on search an type gnome-terminal, right click on the green square and select remove completely (gnome-terminal and gnome-terminal data), done that, reinstall with the same synaptic gnome-terminal and gnome-terminal-data and verify if the problem persist.
