No idea if this meets this description exactly.
My problem seems to be much more general with linux than it appears to be here.
no complicated description.

I still see with Firefox and Thunderbird as well wrong kerning with printed
pages (to file as PDF and directly to my kyocera fs1010) Letters are partially
typed over by the next one and distances are much too wide between other
letters.
I can't see a certain reason. It's the same with different distributions of
linux i tried.
Especially Ubuntu (jaunty, karmic, lucid) and Slackware 10 to 13.1 (which i
prefer)
Kde, gnome and xfce.

Printing is almost unusable for pretty results.
I need to use different software to get reasonable printouts of mails and
webpages.

This bug seems to be present for quite a long time now.
Are there chances to get this fixed any time soon?

No other software available seems to be having this problem whatsoever.
