Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2
I am using grub on an fully encrypted system. When grub is loading only /boot is available. In the German translation the unicode characters ä,ü,ö ß are displayed as ?. On not encrypted systems the characters are in the right way. This I also exact on an encrypted system. Whit grub 1 there was no any problem like this. Bug fixing idea: By running an diff between the grub.cfg of both systems I found out that, unicode.pf2 in /usr/share/grub/ could not load because of the encryption. Maybe it is an idea to move this file to /boot/grub/… ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.41-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Aug 21 02:04:53 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427.1) ProcEnviron: LANG=de_DE.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: grub2 ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 lucid -- grub2 unicode support on encrypted ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/621493 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
