Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vim

When I start the gvim application under KDE, the screen turns black, and
only the mouse pomter is visivble.

To resolve the issue, I have to ssh in, and "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm
restart" twice. Killim the gvim process does NOT solve the problem.

I have reviewed the various log files in /var/log, but I did not find
any errors/warnings related to this hang.

I have not tried gvim with Gnome to see if it causes the same issue.
