Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-mouse
I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 on a HP DV3 series laptop computer. The Laptop uses a Synaptics Touchpad as an input device. The installation process went fine, and then I used the update manager to execute all the pending updates. After that, there is one problem that I can't figure out. Every now and then, maybe many times per day my cursor (arrow) goes nuts. When I touch the Touchpad to move the arrow, all of a sudden the arrow jumps all over the screen by itself. If I just barely touch the Touchpad the arrow jumps around the screen erratically. While this is going on, I have no control over the movement of the arrow. If I touch the pad once again, it starts behaving normally . Sooner or later though very frequently, this weird behavior returns. There does not seem to be any pattern at all as to when it has this pproblem. It seems to be random. I never know when my Touchpad is going to exhibit this problem. Does anybody have any idea what is going on, and how to fix it? ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-mouse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Synaptics touchpad behaves erratically on ubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619636 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
