I have the same problem. The last kernel update has improved the problem. But I still get a lock about every 1 in 7 times. I've found a purported workaround at this site: http://www.techytalk.co.cc/2010/07/logitech-e3500-wXTlSgCebcam-and- cannot-set-freq-16000-to-ep-0x86/. But i haven't tested yet.
