I wonder if it is possible, for any of you who experience the problem, to take a screenshot (not with a camera but with PrtScr) at the very moment this screen distortion happens.
That way it may be possible to distinguish between - a videocard -> display control issue (timing or dot clock issue) versus - a memory corruption issue (a small block of misplaced data or junk in VRAM often results in this very same kind of screen distortion).
