Hi.
I have Windows 7, my notebook is Asus pro5DI series, my eternet adapter:
Realtec PCIe GBE Family Controller.
Today in the morning I downloaded Wubi to install Ubuntu 10.04. Installation
ran w/o any problems, but when i logged in ubuntu, i couldn't set up a wired
connection.
I decided to check if it still works in windows and made a reset. During
logging in windows there was a blue screen for a second, then the notebook made
a self-reboot and started to log in windows again and said that there was a
crush, so it asked me if I want to launch a recovery mod or a simple one.
I chose a simple one and logged in windows without any problems...
BUT
My wired connection wasn't working.

I was sure that its not the problem in cabel or router, so I thought it's a
problem with wubi. I deleted wubi but no changes with wired connection
happened. I started to google it and found a solution that seemed to me
ridiculous. I guy advised to shut down the computer, unplug the energy, take
off the battery and go for a walk for 10-30 mins; then return, insert the
battery back and behold: everything's fine.
And that really worked! :)
(i guess that removing the battery and unplugging the charging makes the
ethernet adapter to restore to defaults or something like that)
So now i have a wired connection in windows working, but i'd be really upset if
I couldn't use wubi on my notebook any more.

p.s. May be it worths mentioning, that a week ago I had another ASUS and
everything worked just fine with wubi and all the stuff.
