Reopening this bug. I'd say one month of no comments is not "quite some
time". In addition I provided what I think is useful information for
tracking this down. Namely that the card reader is detected by the USB
stack but Ubuntu doesn't realize that it is a removable storage device.
I don't know enough about what USB properties Ubuntu uses to decide what
kind of device is plugged in. Is the needed information missing in the
kernel, in udev, in HAL, or somewhere else?
