Honestly, they must be mapped by the graphics card to the 1280x800 resolution. I've tried VGA and all resolutions present under ubuntu 6.10 install zero work. When I load up windows the only resolution I get from default is 1280x800 and it has to be a digital dvi input signal (no analog). To run at native resolution it has to be a dual-link dvi.
On a current system under mandriva I had to install with a different monitor and then swap over to the current one, same thing when I installed ubuntu 6.10. Once it was installed I then modified the xorg.conf file with the freq's that I found on the forums and swapped monitors back no problem at that point. The issue is that at initial install once you get the grub screen (you do get that with the selections) but as soon as it bootstraps into linux and tries to start a gui you get zero completely blank screen. Makes installation pretty much impossible for 99% of the users unless you know enough to do a text install or perhaps console port (haven't tried that option but I've done similar under redhat). Anyway if we can at least get a base screen to work w/ 7.04 at even just the low-end 1280x800 that would be a start/enough to get someone to modify the config file and continue later. -----Original Message----- From: Matthew Garrett [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2007 03:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Bug 96923] Re: No resolution support for 2560x1600 (30" lcd) monitors They don't handle any vesa modes?
