*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 97311 *** yeah i had this / similar today 28/03/07, but i got around it by compiling the source package.
On feisty beta / amd64 platform, I did 'apt-get install compiz-extra' and the following happened: 1. When installed at the same time as gnome-compiz-manager all windows would continually flash visible/invisible, and only accept input whilst visible. 2. With gnome-compiz-manager removed, attempting to load ANY of the 3rd party plug-ins through gconf would cause compiz to crash exit. resolution: problem was resolved when I downloaded the source tarball from your project page, compiled and installed over the top of the binary package (also worked fine when compiling/installing with the binary package -- [apport] compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV with compiz-extra installed https://launchpad.net/bugs/96942 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
