Maybe there are new inventions in C compiler technology in the last ten years, but as far as i know segfaulting means that a program writes data to part of the memory which are not assigned to the program. Due to the fact that other programs are killed in cause of this problem i think its obvious that this is a BIG security problem. I don't mind about details concerning the bug management (clients are in an intranet behind a firewall) and only looking for a solution of this nasty problem. But when you tell me that this isn't a security problem its better for ubuntu to close the security department :) LG Armin Voetter -- armin voetter | mobil 0664 8201475 mfg versicherungsmakler und vermögensberater gmbh | firma 01 2717929/21 puffergasse 1-3/15/4 1210 wien | fax 01 2717929/30 fn 232698d | email a...@m-f-g.at -- sudo segfault error 4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612917 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
