I've upgraded twice since then. I'm not really sure what the situation is now.

Looks like I never got 5.0 to upgrade past this point, but that I did get 5.1 to install. As it happens I'm due a safe-upgrade. $ sudo aptitude update ... $ sudo aptitude safe-upgrade ... Setting up libmysqlclient16 (5.1.41-3ubuntu12.6) ... Setting up mysql-client-core-5.1 (5.1.41-3ubuntu12.6) ... Setting up mysql-client-5.1 (5.1.41-3ubuntu12.6) ...
