Identical problem here, trying to connect to a myTouch 3G running
Android 2.1 (cyanogenmod) via bluetooth tether.  Running on an MSI U-100
laptop.  Connection used to work without issues on the linux-
image-2.6.32-24-generic kernel.  Running lts maverick backport in lucid
lynx; kernel is:

The link /sys/class/net/bnep0 is a link to a nonexistent file.  Tried
restarting networking and modprobe -r bnep.  Neither worked.
