*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 90575 *** thank you colin for having a look at my bug!yes, i can see now that i should have the sda3 as /dev/boot. unfortunately i can't get to that point to alter it in the installation process, since now i come to step 5 of 6 clicking forward, the installer complains about "no root file system". i have read at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DapperReleaseNotes/UbiquityKnownIssues Crash if system partitions are not reformatted: #47046 Even when the reformat option is checked, i got the message "no root file system". i tried in different ways to get around this problem, by deletÃng all partitions, rebooting the laptop from the cd once again, but i got the same error message. so finally, i deleted the extended partition, rebooted, started ubiquity, and then finally was able to start the installation of kubuntu, now with grub on sda3 instead of hda0. but, got this fatal error in the end of the installation process: Description: Unable to install GRUB in (sda3) Message: Executing 'grub-install (sda3)' failed.
