Public bug reported: Binary package hint: khelpcenter
Looking at the bug reports this seams to have been an issue with a number of Ubuntu versions dating back a long way. (63605,75317, 17192) How ever bug 68170 (which marked as a duplicate of bug#19767) seams to be an almost exact match except for the device and opcode numbers reported in the error message. My error reads:- X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 167 Major opcode: 145 Minor opcode: 3 Resource id: 0x0 Failed to open device X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 167 Major opcode: 145 Minor opcode: 3 Resource id: 0x0 Failed to open device INDEXDIR: /home/rsmit/.kde/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/index FINDCMD: find /usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/ -name index.docbook Creating index for 'kde_application_manuals' htdig failed It would seam to me that this issue is back again. I would humbly suggest that search indexes for all help should be pre- built at install and linked so as individual users do not have to do this for them selves. ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Can't build search index for Application Manuals https://launchpad.net/bugs/96805 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
