I still see this problem with Maverick, even with update-manager 1:0.142.3. Everything is up-to-date, and I am using the real nvidia driver, not nouveau. I confirm Bowmore's observation that it is theme dependent; Clearlooks is fine, Ambiance, Radiance and Dust are not.
