My Problem got resolved by the solutions posted in Bug # 115829 and #115271.
Brasero (Lucid - v2.31.2) is now working perfectly in every function I have tried - better than in Karmic! The suggestion in # 115271 may add some functions - but the suggestion in Bug # 115829 (system update - Brasero uninstall and re-install using terminal) COMPLETELY solved my problem.
