Thanks for your patience :) see what happens is that as you go through your awesome Ubuntu journey, you'll find websites that *only* provide ATOM feeds and it may be a website you want updates from, so then you go out looking for a feed reader that supports ATOM and there you go :) liferea provides exactly what you are looking for.
