Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

When connecting to an unsecured wifi network using the network-manager
nm-applet in the gnome panel the icon shows two computers with a red x
indicating disconnection, even though the network connection is
available and it's possible to use the network connection.

A mouse over popup contradicts the icon, reporting correctly that the
connection is established.

Steps to reproduce this error:
>From a disconnected Network Manager, (connected to no networks)
Click the nm-applet icon in the gnome-panel
Click a unsecured wifi network
The green icons spin around for a very long time
(in the mean time the network connection is established)
The notification area shows «Network Name» - Disconnected
The icon comes back with the Two computers and the red X
Open an internet browser... you are connected to the network and can use the
network even though the icon shows differently

Expected Behaviour:
The icon and notification should show connected with the normal connected icon.
