Well, at least 16 people have this problem with Istanbul - the 15
aforementioned and me.

I found a quite crude workaround: disable sound recording in Istanbul,
use the gnome sound recorder, save both files as ogg, join images and
sound in pitivi (also able to edit it a bit)

It works for me but it is still nuts. It should be possible to patch the
packets shouldn't it. Istanbul is a nice application: simple, straight
forward, integrates well into the desktop. It's a pity it has that
glitch.
