Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you
are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

In your case, we have no idea of what was incorrectly removed -- except for
this specific bug (er, question). Looking at the
'DpkgTerminalLog' that was attached, at the end we can see:

Processing triggers for software-center ...

file does not exist: /usr/share/software-
center/softwarecenter/apt/__init__.py

file does not exist: /usr/share/software-
center/softwarecenter/db/__init__.py

file does not exist: /usr/share/software-

pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (50)

dpkg: error processing software-center (--unpack):

subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit
status 1

So -- at least -- part of software-centre has been removed. A good bet
is to try to uninstall software-center, and then reinstall it.

But other packages may also be broken...

A safe approach would be to forego on any such cleaning programmes.
