Afraid I may not be able to reproduce the conditions which caused the
issue.

Have since upgraded to 10.04 and have choosen a different access 
methodology.

As far as I know, the bug has not shown itself since the upgrades.

gvfsd is maxing out the cpu on an nfs mount, have seen it max out cpu on samba 
mounts too.
