Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx
I have a NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 Testing feisty, yesterday an upgrade of nvidia-glx from 1.0.9631 to 1.0.9755 break my 3D capability. (EE) No devices detected. Fatal server error: no screens found -------- I then had no choice but switch to nvidia-glx-legacy (1.0.7184). Now I can load Xorg and see the desktop. When I try glxgears for example, I can see the following error message : -------- Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual -------- It is a bit sad because my GPU was able to run compiz/beryl right after installing the nvidia drivers from Ubuntu feisty repository, and now I cannot do it anymore. (Suggestion : A package for NVIDIA 1.0-96xx Legacy drivers in Ubuntu repositories.)
