Tried on 2.30.1.1-0ubuntu1 on a updated lucid box: - I can add my gtalk account - note that even if I get the "Please enter personal details" page, no matter if I selected the "I don't want to enable this feature for now", the apply button is grayed when I enter nothing and empathy, in the meawhile is connecting the account. Consequently, I can just hit "cancel"
