My Toshiba 2GB PCMCIA hard drive (MK2001MPL/PA3079U) is not listed after boot, nor after a hotplug. There are two entries in dmesg, shown here:
"ata3.00: failed to set xfermode (err_mask=0x1) ata3: failed to recover some devices, retrying in 5 secs" and the two lines are repeated again after 5 secs. I am using the recent Feisty Beta LiveCD and it is the first time I have tried Ubuntu on my Laptop, a Toshiba A50-114. I am able to use this LiveCD on the laptop for most everything else, ( not tested everything yet). The output from uname -r is: 2.6.20-12-generic I have attached the outputs that are requested for hardware problems.
