Before I started having log in problems, I could log in normally and I had set it for logging in automatically per Login Screen Settings. The problem then brought me the text version of a log in screen, so I could either log in through whatever screen presented itself. The problem has continued to text mode log in only.
Now I cannot reset Login Screen Settings because I cannot unlock it. I press on the button and nothing happens. I saw that the Login Screen Settings had reset from logging in automatically to manual. I looked for a workaround and found this website (http://lani78.wordpress.com/2009/07/30/gnome-auto-login-in-ubuntu-9-10 -karmic-koala-alpha-3/) and followed it. After rebooting the Login Screen Settings showed that auto logging was enabled and I could unlock it. But now (Monday, June 21) the Login Screen Setting has reset itself again to manual log in and cannot be unlocked. -- Lucid Lynx login error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/587989 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
