Just thought I would add that the 'Safe Graphics' mode of the Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Beta 1 Live CD works on my PC, with the same hardware. The nv driver still does not like my GeForce 6600 card, but I tend to install the proprietary drivers anyway for full 3D acceleration.
