ubuntu newbie here. my cursor disappeared too. I was changing the screen resolution, trying various resolutions. when I chose one, that setting was saved and while my resolution is fine, the cursor is gone! I can still kind of guess where the cursor is by moving it around then switching to another user. That's how I'm sent this note, from another user account.
