Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
If I turn off the hard switch for my wireless, the wireless radio stays active. If I disable and enable wireless in the Network Manager it still activates the wireless radio even though the switch is off. If I turn off the hard switch for my wireless and then reboot the wireless radio is off and not detected. If I switch it on, it will be detected and activated but then I can't turn it off again via the same switch. This is reproducible everytime. Enabling and disabling wireless from the Network applet manager functions properly. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release: 10.04 $ apt-cache policy network-manager network-manager: Installed: 0.8-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 0.8-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 0.8-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://ftp.jaist.ac.jp/pub/Linux/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) => network-manager (Ubuntu) -- Wireless switch doesn't function unless laptop is rebooted. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594442 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
