Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

In releases 8.10, 9.04 and 9.10 I was able to connect to the Internet
through my Samsung SGH-A767 over USB with the Mobile Broadband dialog in
the Network Manager. On a older computer, I can still make the
connection after upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04, but on a fresh install of
10.04 it will not connect.

After the installation of usb-modeswitch, I was able to make the device
appear in the network connections dropdown menu (as "AT&T MEdia Net 1"),
but when I click it, it attempts to connect and gives up. In the other
releases, the icons on the phone screen usually changed to indicate
that "tethering" was in progress, but no such change occurs in 10.04.

The device never appears in the drop-down menu on the first page of the
dialog I get when I click "Add" on the Mobile Broadband tab of the
network manager - it never appeared here in 9.04 or 9.10, but it would
still connect after I completed the configuration. It DID appear in this
list in 8.10, for whatever reason.

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
