Hmm... There is no package with the name linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.32-23-generic. But I am pretty sure you are referring to linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic. So I installed that. But it makes no difference. Problem with the microphone still exists in the same way.
