Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
Graphics are very slow, and opening Google in Firefox will instantly freeze the machine in Ubuntu 10.04 Removing compiz and compiz-core didn't solve this. Using the kernel command line options "ro nomodeset" instead of "ro quiet splash" solves this problem. The machine does not freeze when kms is disabled, and graphics speed is acceptable (as in 9.10) This machine is using a PCI Radeon 9200 SE card (not PCI express) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.13.0-1ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.36-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Jun 10 17:02:38 2010 DkmsStatus: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) MachineType: To Be Filled By O.E.M.
