Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mutter

Followed the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MainInclusionProcess and all
requirements are complete for Main Inclusion of mutter.

Availability: in universe
Rationale: mutter will be the default manager for unity (which is a mutter
plugin). Consequently, this one will be be the default UNE interface in
maverick.
Security: no security issue known right now, even searched with metacity (see
background information)
Quality assurance: mutter is also used by GNOME shell, and so, we can except a
high support level today.
UI standards: shared with metacity which is only in main, adding some tweaking
effect to it.
Dependencies: all in main
Standards compliance: follow FHS guidelines
Maintenance: desktop team will maintain it, as it already maintains other WM
like metacity or compiz.
Background information: mutter shared a lot with metacity based code. It's
adding some clutter effect to it, apart from that, the behavior is really
similar: we have a daemon (and some annexes binary) with a plugin support and a
private library.
Description of the package:
lightweight GTK+ window manager
Mutter is a small window manager, using GTK+ and Clutter to do
 everything.
 .
Mutter is the clutter-based evolution of Metacity, which, as the
author says, is a "Boring window manager for the adult in you. Many
window managers are like Marshmallow Froot Loops; Metacity is like
 Cheerios."

** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
