The PPA's drivers are worse. :( Master volumes are about the same: the tones sound maybe 20% different. However, there's a horrible new feature: where there used to be silence between the tones, now there's digital noise (somewhat like a burst of modem noise) and a very loud pop. The pop is so loud I worry about it damaging the speakers.
