This is closer to the bug I'm experiencing than

#477250 is only a bit of this bug as far as I can tell because it's not just
the settings for daily or weekly, it's also the settings for 'install with
conformation', 'download in background' and 'automatically update' similarly
have no affect
No preference under software sources for automatic update work, nor does
checking/unchecking the tickbox
