>From bug #569011: It happens on a Compaq Deskpro ENL/P866 here. It's a Pentium III 866Mhz with an Intel 815 chipset and an Nvidia graphic card.
The system freezes randomly and Ctrl-Alt-SysRq-B is the only way to reboot. It happens: - with kernel 2.6.32-22 - in GUI It DOESN'T happen: - with kernel 2.6.31-21 - in text mode (tty) Just tested with mainline kernel 2.6.34 #020634 and no freeze happens anymore. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in 1600x1200 at 60Hz on 17" CRT with this kernel making the PC hardly usable for a long time. -- Ubuntu 10.04 random freezes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585765 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
