gosh, Where are the Devs? I've troubleshot critical errors like this in a few hours and released patches to my users in mythicalLibrarian http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=MythicalLibrarian . mythicalLibrarian includes it's own updater just like ubuntu. I'm kinda pissed that this doesn't work. They are getting paid to make patches and push them out. I do not get paid, but I do it anyways.
They're actually making money off of Ubuntu One which is against the promise on the front page that "Ubuntu is free. Always has been and always will be. From the operating system to security updates, storage to software."
