Dear Alan. You are right. But blind people are not going to delete the item by dragging it into the bottom panel. Rather, they would hit the delete button and later if they plan to do an undelete, finds it difficult to locate the trash from the bottom panel. Hence it would make some real sense if we can pull a menu item under places menu.
