Please reboot your system and then reproduce the issue. Then type Ctrl+Alt+F1. Login and then type "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log Xorg.0.log.txt". Also run "cat /var/log/dmesg dmesg.txt. These will create two log files named "Xorg.0.log.txt" and "dmesg.txt" in your home folder.
Restart X by running "startx". If that doesn't work, just reboot your computer by typing "sudo reboot". Then attach the two log files and explain what you did to reproduce the issue (which resolution you chose, etc). It would be nice if you could pinpoint exactly what makes the screen go blank and what makes it flicker. Does it matter which resolution you choose? etc. -- [965q] Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo E: changing resolution results in non working X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/586325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
