I have the same problem (old laptop, have had video issues before with ubuntu), but more seriously: I cannot get video to play at all! Not totem, not vlc, not mplayer. Haven't tried joenix's gst-launch method, will report back when I try laptop again. All other visuals/graphics that I tested seem fine.
However, if I install digikam I get it to play beautifully---but not within digikam itself, only if I go to the file system *via digikam*. In this case, I have only confirmed it for vlc. To be precise, in digikam when you want to open a file you can click on Album and then it gives you access to the file system, when you right-click on a file it gives you options probably via the file manager, but I guess because you're still under digikam the video output is handled by the kde drivers, not by the gnome drivers. Possibly relevant: I can't get kde running by itself (neither via a kde session from the Lucid splash nor by installing kubuntu, have left a comment to this effect in another bug report). Probably relevant: I can get video in kde by installing pclinuxos 2010 (this was also the case with pclos2007)---qt better suited to my machine? -- Totem 2.30.0: No video (sound is fine) for .flv files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/566348 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
