Unfortunately, I'm RMA'ing the drive which caused this. Before I removed
it, it wasn't even being detected anymore, so I'm not sure even if I had
the drive I could reproduce it. But, what I think happened is that the
drive died completely (versus just not being reliable), and when it
dropped off of the SATA controller the kernel locked.

If someone knows of another way to test that doesn't require the drive,
and won't put my data at too much risk, please let me know.
