I'm having this same problem on my Toshiba Satellite A135-S2246. I am just running from the Feisty Beta LiveCD, since I can't actually install on this computer right now. The volume controls don't seem to realize that there's not actually any sound. When I play the sample video, the video itself is fine but there's no audio. I really hope this gets fixed for the final install CD...
