Public bug reported:

(Background: GNU Emacs upstream doesn't release often. They've been
stuck at version 21 for years now. But emacs 22 is now in pretest and
is feature-frozen and is stable enough that numerous people now use it
for their daily text editing needs. As an example of how stable it is:
A very popular GNU Emacs distribution for Windows, called "EmacsW32", is
Emacs22-based, not Emacs21-based. Now people have requested, in bug
#87901, that the MOTU sync a newer emacs-snapshot from Debian.)

Request: The source package emacs-snapshot is a snapshot of Emacs22.
Since Emacs22 is only getting stabler as it approaches release, could
you please grant permission for emacs-snapshot to update itself to newer
upstream releases over time in the future as Emacs 22 matures further
and becomes less and less buggy?

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
     Assignee: MOTU UVF Team
         Status: Unconfirmed
