This is not invalid, and not true, more recent kernel releases have not just contained security releases. There are a number of good reasons to stay on hardy, and not get forced to lucid. Can we please provide a backported driver into the next hardy kernel release? I am sure there will be one, and updating the driver can't be that big a job.
